Immanuel Lutheran Church, Grand Ledge, Michigan

Kids Hope USA is a mentoring program for elementary age children.  Immanuel has teamed with Kids Hope USA to mentor children at Greenwood Elementary School in Grand Ledge.

The mission of Kids Hope is “to build caring relationships …one child, one hour, one church, one school.”  It is a proven model.  Kids Hope USA is based in Holland, Michigan, and has been in operation for 11 years.  Originally, Kids Hope worked with three schools in Michigan; there are now Kids Hope programs in 27 states.  Kids Hope touches the hearts of children and changes lives.

Kids Hope churches give HOPE to young children through a connection with a caring church member.  For a successful ministry, we need:

Mentors -- Confirmed members age 16 and older who can meet with one child for one hour a week.

Substitute Mentors -- People who can fill-in on those weeks when the primary mentor is ill, away, or has other obligations.

Prayer Partners --  Each mentoring team includes a prayer partner who will commit to pray for the growth of the mentor/child relationship.

Administrators -- People to help run the ministry and plan a year-end party.
