Mike called the meeting to order @ 6:40.m.

Opened with a prayer provided by Pastor Rick.

Review of Previous Council Minutes:

Approval of the April 9^th, 2007 minutes:

TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE April 9, 2007 COUNCIL MEETING.

UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED.

Treasurer's Report:

Mike reviewed the April 2007 Treasurer’s Report.  

MOTION by David Kuntzsch, SECONDED by Teresa Barcy

TO ACCEPT THE APRIL 2007 TREASURER’S REPORT AS SUBMITTED

UNANIMOUSLY CARRIED

Guest: Bruce Belanger, Natural Church Development Presenter and Coach

Mr. Belanger was asked to attend and give the Council a presentation on the Natural Church Development program offered through the Synod. This is a program that is developed to help work with the congregation to identify the strengths and weaknesses and set forth a plan to help the congregation grow in these areas. This is a two-part, 12-18 month program. There is a minimal charge for the program ($300.00).  

Mike Asked that Council members to read the material provided and that we look at and discuss whether this program might be a good fit for us. It was noted that the 2006 Council reviewed the same material and suggested that we look at this program after the new structure was in place. Pastor Rick has reviewed this in the past and currently is in agreement that this program would be a benefit to our congregation.

Serving

Budget Concerns:

Current budget deficit has improved with the addition of a fifth Sunday in April. We have cut it in half but still are showing a ($3,045.19) deficit.  We need to make sure we keep this in mind especially coming into the summer months and Pastor's Sabbatical.

Sabbatical Update:

Sabbatical commissioning service is set for June 3^rd.

Planning Calendar:

• May – Order offering envelopes, Change Worship sign, Recruit Sunday School teachers, Plan Graduation Day Celebration, Approve Pastor's Vacation.
• June – Graduation Celebration, Finalize VBS Plans, Continue Sunday School Recruitment.
