TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE May 14, 2007 COUNCIL MEETING.

Gathering Team: Written report.  Sought Council support for a name tag program.  Gathering Team supports the idea

Mike will write to the Memorial Committee to discuss communication protocol and to advise them of how the fence in the Memorial Garden was repaired.

Old Business:

Budget Concerns:  We will continue to keep this in mind especially coming into the summer months and Pastor’s Sabbatical.

Sabbatical Update:  Pr. Rick is on his sabbatical working at Stony Lake this week.

Natural Church Development: Pr. Schleicher has indicated that if Immanuel wants to begin the Natural Church Development program in 2008, we should initiate the first stage survey this fall.  Discussion about whether the recent structure change to Immanuel’s organization is producing too much confusion to take on a comprehensive, congregation-wide overview like Natural Church Development.

TO START THE NATURAL CHURCH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM IN OCTOBER 2007 WITH THE APPOINTMENT OF THE NATURAL CHURCH DEVELOPMENT TEAM BY COUNCIL AND THE DISTRIBUTION OF THE INITIAL SURVEY INCLUDING FUNDING OF BOTH PARTS OF THE TWO-PART PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF $300. 

UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED

New Business:

Small Group Ministry Coordinator:  Teresa presented an idea to hire someone full- or part-time to serve as a small group ministry coordinator to ensure all members are involved in some ministry of the congregation. Recommended that the concept be explored in more detail by Council and agreed to consider it in more detail before the annual budget meeting, Marlaine Teahan to be contacted as she may have additional information pertaining to this idea.

Planning Calendar:

• June – Graduation Celebration, Finalize VBS Plans, Continue Sunday School Recruitment
• July  – Plan Fall Clean Up, Recruit Sunday School Teachers
