Matt Cermak called the meeting to order @ 6:37 p.m.  Matt opened the meeting with a prayer.

Treasurer's Report:

Pat Anderson reviewed the Treasurer’s Reports for July.

Approval of Previous Council Minutes:

TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE July 14, 2008 COUNCIL MEETING.

Team Reports:

Serving Team: Written report submitted.  No Council action required.

Support Team: Written report submitted.  No Council action required.

Gathering Team: Verbal presentation delivered.  No Council action required.

Preparing Team: Written report submitted. No Council action required.

Serving Team: No written report submitted.

Pastor’s Report: No Written report submitted.

Serving

Old Business:  Council discussed the status of property functions on the Support Team.  The property function of the Support Team lacks energy and is in need of new formation and motiviation.  Council discussed options for rejuvenating a Maintenance Ministry perhaps under the Serving Team.  Serving Team will discuss this at their next Team Meeting.

New Business:  Pr. Rick has advised Council that he will be retiring in approximately three years.  Council discussed the model for replacing Pr. Rick and the steps involved in calling a new pastor.  Council will continue its discussion and consideration of the congregation’s future in the coming months.

Planning Calendar:

• August – VBS, organize first communion & confirmation classes, begin prep for annual budget, plans for Sunday School Rally Day, recruit Sunday School teachers, plan fall clean up, nominating committee seeks to fill vacant Council positions.
• September – Sunday school teacher retreat, Confirmation Classes begin, Fall Worship Schedule Begins, Sunday School Begins, Rally Sunday, Publicize Fall Clean Up, Announce Stewardship Program, Promote Crop Walk, Nomination Committee Continue to promote Council positions available, First Communion Classes, Plan First Communion Celebration.

Announcements:

Announcements preceding the 9:30 a.m. Sunday Services in August and the 10:30 a.m. Service on Rally Day, September 7, 2008 will be given by the following Council Members:

Our next regular meeting is on September 8, 2008 at 6:30 pm
