Mike Proper briefed the Council on the status of the NCD team’s work.  “Passionate Spirituality” was the lowest-scored of the NCD elements for our congregation.  The NCD team is developing a plan to address the passionate spirituality of the congregation by:

·         Increasing awareness of spiritual opportunities (within the church and the community)

·         Building a spiritual “shepherd” network/community within the congregation

·         Integrating faith into our every day life

·         Identifying and sharing our personal spiritual gifts

NCD’s goal is to implement their ideas by January 1, 2009.  They are currently searching for +/- 6 people to help administer their plan.  Under the NCD program, 12-18 months after the plan is implemented, a new survey of the congregation will be undertaken to see if there has been a measurable improvement in the passionate spirituality of the congregation.
